The Blighty Belles
The Blighty Belles (Formerly known as The Covergirls) present a tribute to the wonderful music of the 1940's and the Second World War. Covering all the best loved songs from the Wartime era, The Blighty Belles will bring a tear to your eye whilst at the same time having the hairs on the back of your neck standing to attention. With Authentic costumes and wonderful harmonies The Blighty Belles will bring that 'Je ne sais quoi' to any celebration. A perfect choice for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings and any 1940's/ wartime events. The Blighty Belles are fully self-contained and carry a current PAT Certificate and Public Liability Insurance. The Performance is either 60 minutes in duration or 2 sets of 40 minutes, however a second 1950's set can be added to keep the dancing going throughout your event. ‘Our Finest Hour’- ENSA Tribute Show.
The Blighty Belles present a 45 minute Tribute to ENSA (Entertainment for National Service Assosiation) plus a 45 minute Workshop prior to the performance where Children will learn well-known 1940's songs.
ENSA was an organisation set up in 1939 to provide entertainment for British armed forces personnel during World War II. The Government believed the entertainment was necessary for the morale of the people.
Many well-known Stars performed with ENSA including Dame Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields.
‘Our Finest Hour’ is an educational and fun narrated story with many of the well known ‘Songs that won the War’. The Children will learn Songs and perform with The Blighty Belles during the show and help tell the Story of the E.N.S.A performers.
Two of The Blighty Belles are Vocal Coaches and will help the children learn how to perform the chosen war songs.
This upbeat, fun and educational show is perfect for schools and interacts with the children all the way through.
Meet The Blighty Belles
Tara has long been considered one of the best in the area for the vintage war time music with an authentic and magical tone to her voice. Her vocal articulation is crystal clear and a pleasure to listen to. As a professional singer for over 18 years and a Vocal Coach for 8 years, Tara has performed worldwide and has performed on Both Sky and BBC Television.
Born and bred in Rural Lincolnshire, Tara has always had a passion for the Wartime era. Her Paternal Grandmother served at Bletchley Park during World War II and her Paternal Grandfather was an Engineering Officer with the RAF.
A classically trained musician with a flair for fashion and an unhealthy fixation for Military Planes!.
Victoria is an experienced and versatile Vocalist who embodies and personifies the 1940’s era completely. Bringing a rich tone to the trio, her performances are full of wit, charm and energy. Victoria has had a lifelong obsession with the wartime era. Her maternal Grandmother served with the Wrens in Portsmouth and her Maternal Grandfather served with the British Navy during World War II.
Born in Germany to a Military family, Catherine has always had a love for the 1940’s, her father served for 22 years with the British Army and her Grandfather fought in the War. She is a Music Graduate with an outstanding talent for harmonies and with over 9 years performing experience, she brings verve and energy to every performance. An accomplished Vocalist,Vocal Coach, Songwriter and Musician who never fails to win the hearts of any audience.
